Astragraphia Document Solution, 16 December 2022 - FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific announced today the winners of the Innovation Print Awards (IPA) 2022. In its 15th year, IPA is congratulating 47 winners from 10 countries across the Asia Pacific region for winning this prestigious award. The annual competition is open to all users of FUJIFILM Business Innovation graphic communications solutions across the region – Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Astragraphia also appreciates and congratulates one of the Indonesian participants, Marga Kirana Printing, for being the main winner in the "Multi-Piece Campaign" category with the title "BEDO for Indonesian SMEs," who is a customer of the Graphic Art segment from Astragraphia Branch Denpasar.
Overall, 193 (one) participants registered for 25 categories, with the most competitive and popular category this year being "Brochures, Catalogs, Flyers, and Packaging & Labels" with more than 40 applicants accepted by the committee team for each category. This category is in high demand and has more than doubled in the last year. This indicates the future trend and demand for packaging and labels.
The jury consists of independent judges who have special expertise in print and design and have experience as regional judges in various print competitions. One of them is Paul Callaghan who was appointed as Chair of the 2022 IPA Jury. Paul Callaghan has held several leadership positions in the printing industry such as Chair of the Regional Asian Packaging Conference and Chair of the Asian Print Awards Committee since 2001. He is also a publisher at the Print magazine Innovation Asia, the only print industry magazine in this region. Paul says that “What we're seeing, what's trending, and what we're looking at this year -- digital packaging in this competition has grown tremendously and is one of the most significant categories that we assess. In fact, we have to divide it into two sub-categories, Rigid Packaging, and Cardboard Packaging. If you think digital packaging is lagging behind, I can assure you, it is here and has come a long way.”

Of the 47 winning entries, 34 were printed using the special color technology available on printer machines produced by FUJIFILM Business Innovation, including the winner of the "Best Innovation Award", Winson Enterprise (H.K.) Limited from Hong Kong entitled "The Voyage of Life". This creative app work was inspired by Thomas Cole's (*) Note 1 series of four paintings, which represent four stages of human life . Winson Enterprise uses the same concept to tell the story of a husband and wife. Each page has a different type of paper and effect, intricately representing life's changes and conveying a wide range of emotions and experiences to readers.
"Technology and the incredible speed of digital printing allow brands to be more exploratory in their designs and really think very creatively, especially with the implementation of special color hues that are different," said Scott Mackie, General Manager Graphic Communication Business Group of FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific. We are thrilled to be a part of a ground-breaking journey with our customers in communicating their brand story to their customers via our printing technology. It is very encouraging to see the rapid and widespread adoption of digital printing technology as a result of digital transformation through IPA."
The winning applications will be showcased in the FUJIFILM Business Innovation Graphic Communication showroom in Tokyo, Japan, and at regional Graphic Communication industry events.
To further profile these talents, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific Pte Ltd will submit all (*) Note 2 to the Asian Print Awards, a competition for printers in the region.
