Astragraphia Document Solution, 2 November 2, 2023, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific crowned 41 winners of the 2023 Innovation Print Awards (IPA) from 11 countries in the Asia Pacific region. Their innovative and creative works have provided inspiration for professionals in the printing industry. These works show that the printing industry continues to develop and innovate.
The increasing number of works submitted to IPA this year saw an overall increase to 275 registrant entries. This shows that IPA has become an increasingly popular event for design and printing professionals in the graphic communications industry. This shows that IPA is increasingly recognized as a prestigious event that can measure the value and quality of design and printing work.
For the first time in its 16 years of existence, the Innovation Print Awards (IPA) named two winners in the "Best Innovation" category, each for inkjet technology and toner technology. This award is given to works that are innovative and creative and have high print quality. “Digital Packaging” is again the most competitive category at IPA this year. This shows that brands are increasingly realizing the importance of innovative and creative packaging to attract consumer attention. Digital packaging also highlights the print-on-demand trend, enabling high-quality print results quickly and easily.
Scott Mackie as General Manager, Graphic Communication Marketing, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., said that the entries received at the 2023 Innovation Print Awards (IPA) had increased, especially in design and creativity. This shows that the printing industry has utilized digital technology to meet customer needs.
The printing industry has increasingly utilized digital printing technology, including the use of gold, silver and special colors. This is one of the prominent trends in IPA 2023, according to Paul Callaghan, Chair of the IPA 2023 Jury (*1)
YOSHIROTTEN’S “SUN BOOK”, a limited edition art book cleverly designed to stay open without being held and featuring a foil-covered front edge, won the “Best Innovation Award (Kategorui Inkjet)”. This book contains 365 different works of art, each with a printed date. This project expands the color gamut and reproduces expressions similar to RGB printing, achieving ink-like expressions with high brightness, even on common printing paper. Production of cover sheets in 12 colors and 365 sets is only possible with digital printing. The award-winning "SUN" artwork is a unique and ambitious endeavor that showcases YOSHIROTTEN's mastery of multiple media and techniques.
Spectrum Press International won the “Best Innovation Award (Toner Category)” for its delightfully inspiring mooncake box. The box uses special colors to create a bright and intricate design that depicts mid-autumn festival traditions. Spectrum Press International's attention to fine details, such as the inner slot for storing red packets, demonstrates their understanding of consumer needs and their skills in design, printing and production.
FUJIFILM will exhibit the IPA 2023 winning entries at their showroom in Tokyo and at regional industry events.
Not only that, FUJIFILM will send all IPA 2023 entries to the Asian Print Awards in order to promote creative talents from various countries. (*2)
